Irfan is 3 years and 2 months old now… His creativity development is doing fine. He shows his interest more and more into coloring and papers cutting than ever! Since I know his talent is ‘creativity‘, I let him play more on coloring, drawing and building up anything that he loves to… I hope this is the right way how to nurture his creativity and skill. So far he shows some progress that beyond my expectation tho!
I’m still searching his photo with his cutting and exploring activities but still couldn’t find them!! duhhhhhh mana sudah??
Referring to Jean Warren from Preschool Express, we must encourage our kids creativity by maintaining an appropriate environment; means let our children play or explore something in appropriate and secure environment, provide them a play area to let them play and make a mess, also… the most important is to provide our children with open-ended basic toys ( example; blocks, art supplies, puppets, play animals and objects) I think I provide those first two criteria already, but not sure with the last one! Since I am not good in choosing and providing toys for my Irfan I hope I’ll can be better soon! I think I bought few toys that suite in the criteria and they are …
1. Puzzles; So far he loves playing with puzzle and this maze puzzle bought from kidzzpuzzle.com

2. Blocks; he is bulding a mosque..

3. PlayDoh; I wish one day I can make the dough by myself!

4. Lorry; he loves this kind of lorry since he can detach and construct part by part using the screwdriver ![]()

5. Building up his books; ok.. i know some of you feel awkward about this, but this is the way he’s enjoying his books besides looking at the picture and listening to my reading, and guess what? I’ve tried to compile the books as what he did but didn’t work out!! huhuhu
6. Cutting papers; so sorry because I can’t share with his cutting activities’ photos.. Still digging out the photo! huhuhu Basically, I used to give him an old magazine then ask him to cut any object in the magazine or i printout the cutting exercise from learningpage.com and yes, I allow him to use the real small scissors (always under my supervision) I don’t give him the plastic one to let him know how exactly the scissors working. Lucky so far tak ada baju Irfan yang tergunting
My next goal is to let him make a mask using an old newspaper cutting *finger cross-dunno when can make it happens, because this activity need my full attention on him huhuhu* Ok.. that’s all for now, I will share more on Irfan’s activity on his creativity development ya. Have a nice day
