Yesterday I received my Envirosax bag from Miabambina.com, once I open the parcel I handed one of the bag to my colleague (we share order to save shipping cost)
I bought mine Retro design, I choose this set because I think they able to be applied for my dearhubbychubby too! iya, I have to think of him while choosing the design because he helps me buying groceries all the time…
My excitable always been out of control when I got something new and pleased me!
Unfortunately… something happends the other way round when the other colleague came to my desk and had a look at my Envirosax bag (mind u, I didn’t meant to show off, far behind to invite them to have a look at my stuffs ok..)
In the quote of * * is what exactly in my mind.
Colleague A: Apa ni Taty, apron ke?
Me: No, ini recycle beg lah… *I want to laugh, but it’s ok.. won’t blame him, maybe he never use an apron before*
Colleague B: Recycle beg??!! Satu harga berapa?
Me: RM26.90 each…
Colleague B: U nak guna untuk apa?
Me: I nak guna untuk bawa barang beli barang di kedai, Tesco, pasar and mana² yang I rasa boleh guna, so I dapatlah kurangkan penggunaan plastik bag.
Colleague B: U sorang tak nak guna plastik, ada lagi sejuta orang dalam Malaysia buang plastik.. apa guna..?
Me: Iya… but if dalam Malaysia ada satu juta satu orang, at least yang satu orang ni dah kurang guna plastik, itukan dah mengurangkan.. *if that’s true fact that I am the only one, I won’t follow what the other one million people do because I know what exactly I’m doing!!*
Colleague B: Eh, you buang sampah guna apa?
Me: At home? Yes, I’m still using black beg, tapi bukan ke I cuma guna 1 beg instead of 10, even lesser daripada yang selalu I guna sebab bila I guna recycle beg ni I dah kurangkan penggunaan plastik beg everytime i balik dari Tesco or pasar…? Sekarang ni, I tak cakap I tak nak guna lagi tapi I nak KURANGKAN… *I know it’s hard to survive without using plastic beg in Malaysia because not many people have the intention to stop using plastic beg!*
Colleague C: Kalau macam tu aku nak cipta lah plastik beg yang lepas kita balik dari Tesco kita boleh makan plastik tue!! -then they all laughed out loud- *I know you are joking but if you can invent something like that I am absolutely salute you! Can save lots of $$$!*
Coleague B: Taty I akan bawa ini pergi pasar! - still laughing and holding up an empty A4 paper box!
Me: Ok, I salute you if you buat apa yang you cakap, guna kotak kertas tu bagus sangat sebenarnya daripada plastik..!!-with high pitch of voice already.. *do you think this is a JOKE!!?, if yes please don’t ever think that way, oh dear… I wanna cry already*
Me: You tau tak berapa banyak plastik dah digunakan tahun ini? I tak nak nanti anak and cucu I merana sampai nak beli air bersih pun kena bayar RM10 sebotol… fikir lah how? rasa macam s****d tak? *Please don’t laugh to something that u are not sure the fact, and I know this bag is quite expensive, yes I can get RM1.99 recycle beg from Tesco, but I want something to cheer me up, there’s nothing wrong is it? Further more, I never ask someone else to pay for this bag anyway! geeeeee I boring already with my normal reusable beg that I have, sesekali makcik nak glamer tak boleh ke hahaha*
— Then all been silent… and few minutes later;
Colleague C: Taty, mehhh lerr aku nak tengok beg baru hang..
Me: Tak nak.. nanti kalau aku bagi hang tengok, hang amik ‘makan’ beg aku! *just joking*
eh, ini bukan baru tau, masa aku aku kecik-kecik dulu pun aku dah tengok orang America beli barang guna paper bag.. hihihi kita je yang ketinggalan… tak ada kesedaran.. huhuhu
Ok, that was a situation on yesterday afternoon in my office, after they knew I bought those bags at RM110 and laughed at me… Some people might think they are expensive, but for me our world value is more expensive than RM110 (mind you I am not that wealthy ok..) despite my shallow knowledge about environment safety and recycle things I know I must do something to safe the planet. I start with a 1’st step by reducing consumption of plastic bag and at home we make sure to separate all the tins, plastic bottle, boxes and papers at one place before we send them to recycle centre. I know this small effort is ‘nothing’ compare to other people who live in fully recycle life style! My goal is to make a different to better step for our planet in easy way. LANTAK apa orang nak cakap I don’t mind people laughing at me, before also I’ve been laughed for using cloth diaper for Irfan and cloth pad for myself, get used to it already, anyhow I’m always proud with my life style and I won’t stop for what I’m doing. Lets Rockkkkkk hahaha ![]()
To answer my own question to my colleague B above, this year’s plastic bag consumed are.. (referring to reusablebags.com.. tq for the info!)
Plastic bags consumed this year:
Can’t you see??? They are increasing in every second!! Just think about it.. scary rite? if you wanna know about the impact of plastic bag to our planet please click here. Never too late to make a move folks!! have a good day!

ya, i also have been thinking of getting those shopping bags at jusco. lepas tu everytime pun cancelled cos i thought baik beli shopping bag yang cun-cun hihihi.. nasib baik jusco’s plastic bags are biodegradable.
kesian la your colleagues taty.. why la can’t they think ahead? i think the recycling habit should be taught in school so that at least the kids can teach their parents, kan?
Far,
I agree la.. it should be taught in school. I remembered there’s one documentary few years back, this guy was talking about enviromental issues. kalau tidak silap, he received Nobel Prize… That documentary should be watched by every family & shown in school too.
Taty,
Salute you, Mama.. Biarkan la mereka, at least you did make them aware about plastic bags reusable.
I am so kesian kat diorang yg berfikiran singkat camtuh!aku terpikir ah .. slalonye perangai buruk camnih org pompuan yg otak singkat jek nih lelaki eh?amazing!dunia nak kiamat agaknye!amat memalukan ah!
1 lagi aku nak pesan ah, kalo korang taknak amalkan recycle nih sudahlah takyahla nak perlekeh orang lain plaks!bukan dia beli mintak duit kau pun!tak faham ah aku ngan manusia yg punya low mentaliti mcm korang tuh!
aku bukan nak bikin panas tapi sedih tengok peel melayu yg jenis camnih!
Pathetic!
Puan2 and Tuan2…
if everyone think , no need to do anything, because the majority don’t do it, then we live in a really sad place.
Even a small one, one step at the time we can improve our environment, and hopefully to help to “EDUCATE” others……
But…
if you don’t want to do it…..then don’t need to make those who did it feel “bad” by laughing at them…
we have our choice and let’s respect each other choice…..
iya toh? ( read with Javanese accent please if you can)
hUHU..menyedihkan la respond diorg ni. If they have wife, I’m sure their wives will love reusable bag like us. By that time, sure diorg kena cuci telinga.
It’s useless being ‘well educated’ with your cert of degree or master or whatever but doesnt being alert and aware of the environment!
Agreed with Sandra, if kamu org tak nak buat, jan pula sengaja malukan org yg buatnya.
Taty and us here try and step out to do something for the environment not only for ourselves, our kids, but because we love our planet, dont we?
saya menyokong penuh usul kak taty untuk memansuhkan penggunaan beg plastik di shopping mall dan supermarket di malaysia…. idop kat taty…idop kak taty…vote Taty for President..!!!
eh…Perdana Menteri…hehehe…
ps: sometimes people(man/husband/boy … not all) mmg suka buat lawak bodoh macam ni…
nampak macam pandai… tapi sebenarnya tak pandai pun… huhuu…
Emm my 2 cent je
Hi all…
green the earth as possible you can..it wont harm you if u start using more recycle from now on…..the thinking of “people wont change” will destroy everything of your idea….afraid or bother about what people think will stop u to move forward….well at least we do the right thing and will benefit us..then we should do it…I remember when me and my friend Nonny (kak taty mesti ingat kan) we went to bakery shop at kingfisher kk….and we refused to take the plastic bag then the poor cashier lady said “pencinta alam”…well what do u expect….these bunch of people need to read a lot of pollution article or just wacth the Astro….pollution is everywhere……..our earth is seriously polluted….and thank God the Pencinta alam still exist…Always recycle….bak pepatah melayu…sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit…so if we start now….maybe we start alone…but we combine the alone of pencinta alam with each pencinta alam of all over the world…it can change the earth…..chaiyo..chaiyo…go green….
You did really well, Taty! It’s fantastic that you managed to show him that ONE person’s change can make a difference
FYI, plastic bags are no longer handed out free at supermarkets or shops in China. They cost between RMB0.20 - 50 each and many Chinese (and foreigners) are using cloth or other bags to carry groceries, bread, books and other stuff.
Let’s hope more Malaysians will do the same too!
WELL DONE Taty!! (first time commenting here
) I’m so proud of you for standing for the Environment! All Pro-Environment stand and ‘fight’ together will ya!!
Let’s practice 3R - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (but focus on Reduce first k.. hehe)
Mr Reply;
hihihi and I am proud of you more for what u’ve done for the environment too! iya, lets start with reducing first! btw, I’ve started to bring my own ‘tapau box’ everytime I buy kueh or nasi lemak, at least I am reducing the amount of plastic beg usage, but you know larr how they looked at me evertime I asked them to put the kueh in my Tupperware!!?? heheheee I bet u can emagine it already
