I am in Penang now, since I was away from blogging I guess not many of you know that I moved already… huhuhuu iya, I moved to Penang last August, means I’ve been alone here for more than two months already… Alone? iya.. alone.. seorang.. without my hubby and son… huhuhu
Everything was unplanned and I moved here because of my job. And of course it was difficult for me to make the decision at the first place… It was not easy especially when I have to be away from my dear hubbychubby and Irfan, BUT I HAVE too.. iya terpaksa and really really terpaksa, I know some of you might say that I am a very bad + selfish mom, I don’t blame you because sometimes I do feel the same too… but this is life… Life sometimes can be so unfair and complicated.. We can’t get everything that we want at once, and we have to  sacrifice other to get another… honestly, I never get everything that I want at the same time in my life… iya never… Anyhow, I do feel that I am blessed, Thanks God for a good job and wonderful family that I have… :)
Anyhow, BIG thanks to my dear hubby chubby for being very supportive and understanding. “Tuhan jerrr yang dapat membalas jasa Papa”. I know being away from each other is difficult and taking care of Irfan is another huge task for you… apa lagi nak handle everything alone at home… You sacrifice more than I do… Thanks for everything and hopefully you can get your job transfer to Penang by next year! No more ‘weekend gathering’ for us then! Ameen…
And here I am in Penang! As far as I’m concern I loveeeeee Penang!! yeahhh I love the food especially and my colleagues are very friendly and supportive! hihihi Living in out skirt of Penang, Bandar Baru Bertam to be exact, makes me feel more comfortable with no busy traffic and the surrounding are mostly still green! And I love this environment… Lots more I wanna share about Penang tho, and I’ll blog about it some more soon! :)

Last Wednesday we went back to Kuala Kangsar to have an Ifftar with my MIL as that day was a pubic holiday in Perak. In the morning my MIL told me about her life when she was young and as usual, I enjoyed listening her stories… :D Suddenly she told me about this type of Malay kueh that she used to eat last time. And personally, I never eat even heard before it so far! MIL said she loves to eat the ‘kueh’ but nowdays it’s not easy to find it.. I felt sympathy for her since she in on wheel chair and she is no longer capable to cook, my MIL used to cook Rendang Pedas for us last time.. soo yummy her rendang! Rindu nak rasa rendang MIL huhuhu.

Back to the story! Setelah melihat MIL’s sad face yang teringin sangat nak makan Lengat Kurma… with full of confident I offered myself to make the kueh, of course I asked her to teach me how to make one!  since I never try this, I also wanna taste it! hihihi (padahal dalam hati berdegup kuat ohhhh very berdebar, iya lah if tak jadi the kueh, I’ll die then! muahahaha)

Ok, the name of the kueh is Lengat Kurma! iya LENGAT not sengat hahaha.. eh I am posting about kueh again? duuhhh but this time i couldn’t resist since I want to use it as my refference once I wanna teach this kueh to my future daughter in law hahaha iya longgg time to go tuh hahhahaha

hehehe very easy also wanna make this Lengat Kurma - lebih kurang nak buat Limas lah, cuma ini lagi senang! :D .. This Lengat also must use the “kelongsong” .. Wanna know how to make the “kelongsang”?  here are the photos! sempat lagi i snap photo, my MIL senyum jerrrr hihihi (she was helping me to prepare the “kelongsong” too!) Easy to make the “kelongsong”,  same way like we make a box in origami, but this “kelongsong”  need to use a banana leafs instead of paper! :D How big the “kelongsong”? emmm we used the dawai kokot box to measure! just estimate larrrr hehehe

After all the “kelongsong” is ready, we put all ingredients inside the “kelongsong”.. easy also! 1’st we put a bit of sugar, then dates (potong dua, this time my MIL used dates and prune, for a better taste she said hehehe) then the flour mixture and cook in a steamer for about 15 minutes! and tadaaaa ready to eat for buka puasa! :D nahh kan dah siap! :D

This is Lengat Kurma & Prune, thanks mak for teaching me! “next time i’ll do it alone by myself for you ya! :D next time you don’t have to help me.. kesian mak tangan sakit..” (if u notice some of the “kelongsong” got staple b’coz my MIL not strong enuf to impale the kelongsong with coconut lid.. tapi dia cakap, dia tak staple kena kueh.. i mahu nangis lahh huhuhu)

My younger sister getting married last Saturday (on the 28th June 2008). The wedding ceremony was held at my parent’s house. she married to a nice guy from Sabah, yayyy Sabahan is part of my family now :) I am happy for Irfan, since he born in Sabah, means now Irfan ada gang hahahaaa well doesn’t matter where does he came from actually, as long as their love each other and he can accept us as part of his own family like we accept him as part of ours, that’s good enough. So, congratulation and all the best to my sis and the husband, Ismail… the reception at Sabah is on the 2′nd of August… I wish I could join the ceremony with my family to Sabah! :) Well, here are some of the photos… I wanna upload more but too lazy to watermark the photo huhuhuhu
